Participants during the East African Judicial Training Committees Meet
KAMPALA: Uganda on Monday June 17, 2019 hosted representatives of the East African Judicial Education Committee (EAJEC) at Protea Hotel in Kampala.
The meeting drew participants from Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and members of the East African Community as well as East African Court of Justice.
The meeting was chaired by the Executive Director of the Judicial Training Institute, Hon. Justice Dr Henry Peter Adonyo, who said the activity was in accordance with the East African Community calendar of activities for the period of January to June 2019.
The meeting considered the status of the implementation of the previous decisions and recommendations of the Committee; the progress on the National Judicial Training Institutes and the East African Court of Justice, identification of thematic areas for regional training of Judges and judicial officers from the East African partner states and engagement of trainers for FY 2019/20 and the work plan for the East African Judicial Education Committee for the FY 2019/20.
Hon. Dr Justice Adonyo commended the commitment of members to continue judicial education in East Africa.
"Your presence is a manifestation of your commitment to the East African Cooperation not only among the Judiciaries but also other organs of sister countries,"he said.
